Ranch Roping Discipleship

There are 5 areas to "Ranch Roping Discipleship:" horsemanship, time, stockmanship, teamwork, and roping.  Just like these 5 areas are crucial to our success in ranch roping, I find that these 5 areas are essential to discipleship.

1. Horsemanship

- Foundation
- Who we are in Christ

Luke 6:48 - He is like a man who built a house, and dug deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat violently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

Heb 4:12 - For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

4. Teamwork

- Functioning in the Body of Christ

Rom 4:5 - Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
Mark 3:24 - And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.

5. Roping

- Spiritual Gift

Eph 4:8 - Wherefore, he says, when he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.
1 Ti 4:14 - Neglect not the gift that is in thee.
2 Ti 1:6 - Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
